Unfinished Head Turn

I was supposed to finish this months ago, buuuut I got so darn persnickety about such a little thing that it sucked all the happiness right out of it. XD

Her nose sorta bounces, but for some reason I find that cute XD

Brushing Up on Studies

Unintentionally bright flashy colors and I’m not sure if that warrants a warning of some sort but here’s one anyway

I forgot about the Wednesday updates for a bit so there’s no illustration today. There will be one next week somehow, and the rest of the year will probably consist mostly of WIP classwork photos (yay school :D). In the meantime, here’s an Udoli Julie head turn wip.The final version will have all of those awkward frames fixed so that it doesn’t look so gross and weird. As always critique and advice are more than welcomed. Thank you kindly

Help Needed, Critique Wanted

I’m trying to learn animation, and while The Animator’s Survival Kit is all fine and dandy and helpful, I’m the type of person who needs outside help when it comes to learning things. That means asking tons of questions, asking for several visuals, and of course, having someone personally dissect and shred my work apart just so that I can know how to fix my obvious mistakes. Now Youtube was nice enough to have hundreds upon hundreds of videos that could answer my questions and tell me to do that and not this, but at the end of the day it’s still nice to have a live human really tear into my work.

So I have a few questions for all of you animation students and professionals out there:

  1. What am I doing wrong?
  2. How can I improve?
  3. Is there a bit of a thing that I keep messing up on
  4. Can anyone explain the midpoint thing in The Animator’s Survival Kit? I get it to a point, and it is something we’ve done in class, but how do I use it to get the exact same size and length of an image? It’s confusing.
  5. I understand the point of an X sheet, but how exactly do I apply it to the animation itself?
  6. Is it too early to start worrying about any of these things?
  7. Do you have any other advice?

Thank you all for your time and patience.

A friend showed me this video and I must say that it’s absolutely fantastic! The amount of effort put into this, the unique style, the beautiful colors and amazing motion is all just so breath takingly wonderful! Personally, I am not a fan of Ke$ha, but this video was so fantastic that I stopped caring who was singing. This is a bit of an odd request, but I want as many people as possible to watch this. If you could show this video to a few people you know I would be very happy. The artist is extremely talented, and deserves as many accolades as possible. Thank you so much, sorry for interrupting whatever you were doing, and have a nice day.

First Post of the Year!

And it only took a month and a half!

My first ever lip sync animation!

Yes, I am back. I don’t have much to report other than the fact that my Birthday was two weeks ago. I’ve been very busy lately (aren’t you tired of hearing that?), but don’t worry. I have not forgotten the site or any of you guys. Hopefully I’ll be able to find time for doodles and comics. Disappointing you guys would make me sad. Anyway, that is all I have to say.

Good night~

Merry Christmas!

Honestly, Mu, you are the only gargoyle I know who could accomplish this!

Merry Christmas, guys. I wanted to make a set of GIFs for you, but I caught a fever and that prevented me from doing anything. I feel a little better, but I don’t think I’ll be able to do anymore of these. If I do do more of these it will be a Christmas miracle.

Anyway, I’m going to rest. I hope you all have a safe Holiday.

Ps: I got the pine brushes from this site.
